My 100th Video Posted to YouTube!

Image
That's right folks.  I've officially posted 100 videos to YouTube! It's a milestone for me so I wanted to celebrate a little!  From music videos, movie reviews, a pilot for a local music TV show and more, I've done a lot of random videos.  While retro gaming is my focus now, I'll have more of these other types whenever the fancy strikes me.  It's the beauty of having my own channel.  I can do whatever types of videos I want to.  I want to thank the people that have checked them out and subscribed.  It means a lot to me.  It's fun to have this outlet and every thumbs up or subscribe means I've at least connected with someone.  And really, isn't that what it's all about?
So, thanks again!  And here's to 100 more!

Die Hard (1988) Movie Review

Image
Die Hard is the greatest Christmas action movie of all time (are you sensing a theme here?).  Die Hard is my favorite action movie of all time…still…even after the golden age of superhero movies in which we currently reside.  Even after The Matrix, the Indiana Jones franchise, the Bourne movies, the Terminators (1 and 2 only), the John Woo classics, Mad Max: Fury Road, the Schwarzenegger classics, the Stallone classics, and so on.  One caveat: Michael Mann’s epic crime opus Heat is not a pure action movie.  It is a crime drama with some scenes of intense action.  So, that’s my position.  I think it’s honestly a timing thing.  I was obviously still quite impressionable, and my brain was still being molded into its current, cynical form the first time I saw Die Hard so I guess it just had a bigger impact.

The Misadventures of Noskinse Wellington: Episode 6 (The Pain of Return)

Image
Our favorite skeleton butler is back after his two year sabbatical.  He returns to visit his friend Ancient Toad.  Is he still under attack from random firecracker assaults?  There's only one way to find out.  Head over to our YouTube channel for more on Noskinse Wellington.  It's an episodic series and you don't want to miss out!

The Biggest Problem With Super Mario Run (Mobile App)

Nintendo has their first real phone game out.  It's Super Mario Run!  Is it any fun?  Is it awesome?  Watch this 27 second video to see what is the biggest issue this game has.  Killed all enjoyment for me.

Let's Play # 5 - 10 Minutes Alone With Super Star Wars (SNES)

Image
To celebrate the release of Rogue One today, I play Super Star Wars on the SNES for the first time. Is it as hard as people make it out to be? Let's play and see.

Let's Play # 3 and 4 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (NES), The Karate Kid (NES)

Here's a twofer!  First I play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project.  Then, I delve into the wonder that is the Karate Kid for the NES!  More let's plays coming soon!

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Movie Review

Image
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is the funniest Christmas movie of all time.  On its own it’s still one of the funniest movies of all time not factoring in any holiday themed criteria.  Similarly, Die Hard is the best Christmas action movie of all time and easily in the top five pure action movies of all time.  Christmas Vacation represents a rare confluence of top level talent yielding a nearly perfect production.

Let's Play # 2 - 10 Minutes Alone With Mike Tyson's Punch Out (NES)

Image
If you want to be the best, you've got to beat the best. I take on Tyson. Am I the best? Find out here.  For my 2nd let's play, I had to take on Mike Tyson's Punch Out.  It's an absolute classic.  In this one, I do a 10 minute prep run and then I take on Kid Dynamite himself!  It was fun.

Let's Play #1 - 10 Minutes Alone With Ghosts 'n Goblins (NES)

Image
Here's the first in our new series of Let's Plays!  This time, I was challenged to make it as far as I could in 10 minutes on Ghosts 'n Goblins! If anyone knows this game, it's a tough one.  How well did I do?  Check it out to find out!
Expect more of these videos often.  I love playing these retro games from my youth and I look forward to sharing them with you.
