YouTube Goals and Whatnots

As I mentioned in the previous post about the lack of updates on this here site, I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm nearing a major milestone in my YouTube career that I'm quite excited for.  That's right, I'm about to hit 1,000 subscribers.  Now I know to a lot of people that's not much, especially when there's people out there with millions of subs.  To me, this is important because it goes to show that my content is connecting with people.  For whatever reason, more and more people are hopping on the PCC train and I couldn't be happier about it.

I started my channel back on April 3, 2007.  Up until about April of this year, I only had about 350 subs.  In 3 months, my subscriber count has exploded (relatively speaking).  As of right now, I'm at 956.  I attribute this completely to just being more consistent.  I have a regular upload schedule now that I haven't missed in months.  I try my hardest to reply to every comment left on my videos.  I'm sure there's been a few that I may have missed, but I really do try.  I'll admit, it's getting a bit harder with more and more folks leaving comments.  However, that's a great problem to have.

I think I've found a nice balance between the biggest topic on my channel (Godzilla) and smaller topics.  My favorite thing is seeing the folks that I know are here for the Godzilla videos commenting on the Nostalgia Overload videos or joining in on a Friday the 13th live stream.  The crossover is what I'm aiming for because I know there's other people out there like me that are into a wide array of topics.  It's nice to finally be connecting with them.  I put a lot of time and effort into my videos and live streams and I hope it shows.

My ultimate goal with YouTube is what every small time content creator is seeking.  I'd like to make a sustainable income doing what I love.  That's making videos.  I don't care about becoming YouTube famous or anything like that.  I'd just like to be able to devote more time to doing these things that bring me joy.  It's great to know that on some small level, it's connecting with other people too.  So yeah, you can say I'm in it for the money.  I won't disagree.  However I will point out that I've been doing videos for a long time without seeing any real benefit other than the pride I feel for having created something out of nothing.  With more time, there's no telling how many of these crazy ideas I can pull off.  And trust me, I've got a million crazy ideas that I'd love to attempt.

For those that already subscribe to my channel over on YouTube, I just want to say a very heartfelt THANK YOU.  You guys have given me inspiration and helped me through some pretty dark times without even knowing it.  That's something I'll always remember and I'll always cherish.  So, thanks!  For those who haven't hopped on board the PCC train, what are you waiting for?  Hook a brotha up!

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee (GC) Chill and Chat!

For anyone wondering what's been up with PCC lately, here's the update.  I've been spending lots of time working on my YouTube channel.  It's been growing quite well lately and I'm proud to say that I'm almost to 1,000 subscribers!  While this site may seem like it's been abandoned, it really hasn't.  I just haven't had much time to do many updates.  If you're interested in what I do, be sure to subscribe on YouTube.

I do live Godzilla video game streams every Sunday night.  In addition, I do live Friday the 13th: The Game streams every Wednesday.  Thursdays are devoted to my Nostalgia Overload Series.  Then on Sunday mornings, I release a new Godzilla video.

I've also been spending more time on Twitter.  I'm trying to build my following over there too.  Haven't had much luck there to be honest, but it's a slow build.  If you're interested in joining me there, it's @popculturecasts.  Give me a follow!
